As the City of Cagayan de Oro gears up its registration system for the vaccine rollout, residents are urged to register.
In a City Hall press briefing held on Wednesday, January 27, acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said long time residents of Cagayan de Oro City who came from other areas but wished to be vaccinated in the city should prepare to register themselves online once City Hall sets up its system.
“Yes the city will set up an online registration system for city residents in coordination with the Department of Health (DOH). So long time residents should make sure that once we finish setting it up they should register immediately before the vaccine rollout,” Dr. Nery said.
“The online registration system will serve as the master list for who would be eligible for vaccination,” Dr. Nery said. “Of course we will follow the DOH guidelines on who will be prioritized for vaccination but eventually over time everyone should be eligible for vaccination,” she added.
Seniors and persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the city were earlier reminded to register online since they prioritized vaccination.
“Once it is established, we will announce the process [of] registering online. We also reminded our health personnel to update our household identification database so we can determine if a person is a longtime resident or just renting an apartment. All will have to be profiled to ensure that our database of target vaccine recipients is as accurate and complete as possible,” Dr. Nery said.
