MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The two-seater Cessna 152 trainer plane has been found in Apayao, local officials of Cagayan and Apayao confirmed on Wednesday.
The missing Cessna plane update was confirmed by Apayao Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management officer Jeoffrey Borromeo. The Cessna 152 missing plane crashed at the boundary of Barangay Salvacion in Luna town and Barangay San Mariano in Pudtol, Apayao.
However, the two passengers were not found. National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) officer Diego Mariano said a search and rescue operation is currently being conducted for the missing passengers.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) stated that the aircraft operator, Echo Air, will be suspended.
The Cessna 152, which Echo Air operated, was en route from Laoag Airport to Tuguegarao Airport and was supposed to arrive around 3:16 p.m.
CAAP is working with other agencies to locate the missing plane. The Cessna plane missing update has been confirmed, and all that’s left is to find the missing passengers of the aircraft.
It has been reported that the Cessna 152 was missing on August 1 on its way to Tuguegarao Airport. The aircraft was estimated 35 nautical miles northwest of Alcala, Cagayan, stated by the Apayao provincial government.
CAAP stated that they had received an INCERFA message, which directly refers to the safety of the aircraft and its passengers being uncertain. The message was received around 2:37 p.m. on August 1. – WhatALife!/Zain
