Miss Universe Egypt is Logina Salah, from the Middle East. The beauty queen has a skin condition called vitiligo. Aside from the Philippines, another Southeast Asia contender is Thailand’s Suchata Chuangsri. The 21-year-old is studying International Relations at Thammasat University, majoring in Political Science. At 16, she faced a major health scare and underwent surgery to remove a 10 cm lump in her chest. To this day, she continues to advocate for women’s health and breast cancer.
Alma Cooper is from the United States, North America. The twenty-two-year-old is more than a beauty queen; she is also a US Army Second Lieutenant. On top of that, she’s also getting her Master’s Degree in Statistics (Data Science) at Stanford University.
Moreover, one of the candidates from Africa is Ilda Amani from the Democratic Republic of Congo. According to Glamour, she “embodies the perfect fusion of fashion, activism, and creativity. For the Philippines, Chelsea Manalo is the first Filipino of African descent to represent the country. She continues to celebrate her skin and is very vocal about it on social media.
