MANILA, Philippines – In a recent vlog with Karen Davila, actress Miles Ocampo conveyed a message for her ex-boyfriend, Elijah Canlas.
During a conversation with Karen Davila, Ocampo revealed that they began the year on good terms and have resumed talking. However, she emphasized that certain aspects of their relationship are more suitable for private discussion.
“We started this year na okay kami, nag-uusap na ulit. May mga bagay kaming dalawa lang ang makakaalam at makakasagot sa isa’t isa, so might as well be friends for now,” she told Karen Davila.
Despite the flaws and imperfections on both sides during their relationship that spanned over two years, Ocampo stated that she has extended forgiveness to both Canlas and herself.
“Of course sa isang relationship hindi lang naman isang tao, parang you have to make it work, kayong dalawa. Siyempre may mga pagkukulang at ano rin, ‘yung isa’t isa. Pero I’m happy na naiwan ‘yung lahat ng issues namin sa 2023,” she said.
“Forgiveness naman ang pinakaimportante sa lahat. For myself din, and since I still have love for that person. Lahat naman ng tao nagkakamali, parang dapat lang maging accountable ‘yung mga tao sa mga nagawa nila,” Ocampo added.
Ocampo also acknowledged that she continues to hold love and respect for Canlas, particularly due to the numerous joyful memories they shared.
“May pinagsamahan kami, matagal din kami and kapag ganun na marami kayong pinagdaanan together, marami kayong happy memories din together. I have so much love and respect for that person,” she said.
“Siya ba ang true love mo?” Karen asked.
“Yes, Miss Karen. First jowa. First boyfriend. First everything,” Ocampo replied.
In November, Canlas disclosed the end of his relationship with Ocampo. Despite the breakup, Ocampo remains open to the idea of reigniting their romance.
However, she emphasized her current commitment to work and left the fate of their relationship to the universe, indicating a readiness to adapt to circumstances and see where life leads them.
When questioned about the possibility of reconciling with Canlas, Ocampo expressed her preference to concentrate on her work at the moment.
“Tingnan natin. Ang universe… ang magsabi,” she said.
