Mikee Morada once again sat down in an interview on Toni Talks, opening up about his journey with wife Alex Gonzaga, touching on their experiences with pregnancy and the challenges they’ve faced together. 

One of the most emotional parts of the interview was when Mikee opened up about the couple’s journey to starting a family. 

Mikee recounted how, on their third pregnancy, they discovered during an ultrasound that Alex was carrying another baby. The joy, however, was met with another heartbreak when they suffered another miscarriage. Mikee shared the weight of those moments:

“Nung nalaman namin na pregnant kami, third time na, tapos pagdating sa ultrasound, yun na ‘yung pang-apat. May baby sa loob…Naiyak ako kung narinig ko yung heartbeat.” 

Mikee expressed how happy he was hearing their baby’s heartbeat for the first time saying, “First time kong makarinig ng heartbeat sa [third try].”

“Pero ang masakit dun kasi ang sabi samin wala nang laman.”

The couple had previously gone through similar heartbreaks, and the repeated loss was a test of their emotional resilience. 

Despite the emotional toll, Mikee credited Alex’s strength and optimism as key to helping them move forward. 

For Mikee, the thought of parenthood came with a mix of readiness and surrender, reflecting on their discussions about having a baby.

“Nung 2020, ready na ako. Anytime kung anong ibigay ni Lord, ready na,” he said. Parenthood, for them, became a journey of trust and patience, allowing things to happen in God’s time.

Marriage isn’t without its trials, and Mikee opened up about how he supports Alex through difficult moments. “In the five years we’ve been married, ang dami naming pinagdaanan,” he shared. 

His approach to supporting his wife is simple yet profound: be present.

“Si Catherine, ang gusto lang naman niya kapag may mga ganyan, nandiyan ka sa tabi niya… You just have to be there for her morally and physically,” he explained. 

Whether through small acts of affection or simply standing by her side, Mikee emphasized the importance of making his presence felt in their marriage. 

One of the most striking parts of the interview was when Mikee recounted an incident early in their relationship. 

He recalled visiting Alex on the set of ASAP, where an unnamed celebrity discouraged him from pursuing Alex, ‘Naku, if I were you, huwag na si Alex.’ 

Despite the unsolicited advice, Mikee’s resolve never wavered.

“Kasi meron kang nakita sa kanya na hindi nakikita nung iba.” Toni said. 

“Siya talaga yung gusto ko makilala eh. Tapos nung nakikilala ko siya unti-unting lumalalim… Ito, parang makakasama ko ‘to buong buhay.” 

For Mikee, Alex is a woman worth loving deeply, and as he got to know her, he found himself drawn to her more and more. “Napakabuti at sarap siyang mahalin,” he added.

Mikee’s insights on married life and parenthood serve as a reminder of the beauty of commitment, patience, and faith. 

As they prepare for the next chapter of their lives, one thing is clear: Mikee and Alex’s love story is a testament to the power of partnership and the joy of walking through life’s highs and lows hand in hand.
