Man rescued from fifth-floor ledge of NMMC COVID-19 ward

Cagayan de Oro, Philippines — A COVID-19 patient climbed out and stayed on the 5th-floor ledge of the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) on Tuesday afternoon, August 24.

The said man has a psychotic disorder problem.

A unit from the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) immediately responded and successfully executed a rescue operation. Moreover, the Cagayan Electric Power & Light Co., Inc. (CEPALCO) said they have “cut off the power line for the rescue unit to enter near the power lines.”

According to NMMC Medical Director Dr Jose Chan, the man already tested negative for COVID-19 and was scheduled for discharge, local news Magnum Radyo reported. – WhatALife.ph
