It’s planner-buying season. Here are the Philippine holidays for 2022 and a cheatsheet for possible long weekends to amp up your schedule plotting game!
President Rodrigo Duterte signed Proclamation No. 1236 (s.2021) on October 29, 2021, declaring the regular holidays and special non-working days for next year.
November 2 (All Souls’ Day), December 24 (Christmas Eve), and December 31 (New Year’s Eve) will remain as special working days in 2022. It was only this year when these were declared working holidays to boost “economic productivity” amid the COVID-19 pandemic, CNN reported.

**”The proclamation declaring national holidays for the observance of Eidul Fitr and Eidul Adha shall hereafter be issued after the approximate dates of the Islamic holidays have been determined in accordance with the Islamic calendar (Hijra) or lunar calendar or upon Islamic astronomical calculations, whichever is possible or convenient,” the Proclamation read.
***Cagayan de Oro non-working days
The Department of Labor and Employment shall promulgate the implementation guidelines for this Proclamation.
