It’s common knowledge that Filipinos are known to be excellent performers who continue to bring pride to their country. These performers don’t shine on the local stage but also on the world stage. Perhaps, the karaoke sessions in the country have helped foster outstanding talents.

While Filipinos excel in various talents, they are usually renowned in singing. In America’s Got Talent, numerous personalities have showcased what they’ve got. We’ve provided a list of top performers who brought our roots to the limelight.

Marcelito Pomoy

Filipino singer Marcelito Pomoy, a native of Bislig, joined America’s Got Talent” The Champions in 2020, where he finished fourth place.

He performed Italian singer Andrea Bocelli’s “Time To Say Goodbye,” where he shocked judges with his dual voice, which consists of a female and a male vocal.



During the semifinals, Pomoy also earned a standing ovation from judges Howie Mandel, Alesha Dixon, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell.

Roland Abante

Just lately, Roland Abante, also known as Bunot, a Filipino singer from Cebu, rocked the stage with his rendition of “When A Man Loves A Woman,” popularized by Michael Bolton. 

Judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Howie Mandel gave Abante a standing ovation after his performance.

Abante then went to Simon and received a hug from the judge. 



Abante became an overnight sensation after he performed Michael Bolton’s hit song “To Love Somebody,” which went viral and wowed netizens.

Peter Rosalita

11-year-old Dubai-born Filipino singer Peter Rosalita wows the stage with his rendition of Michael Bolton’s classic “Go the Distance” last January 28, earlier this year.

Judges then gave him a round of applause after his performance. Simon asked Rosalita what his dream was, and the young singer answered it was to become an international singer and release his album, which drew more applause from the crowd.



Heidi even complimented Rosalita as one of the performers who remained the best-dressed in the show. 

Rosalita previously competed in America’s Got Talent in 2021, where he performed “Without You” by Mariah Carey. 

Angelica Hale

Angelica Hale is a young Filipino-American who was born in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2017, she competed on Season 12 of America’s Got Talent, where she made it past the auditions after performing Andra Day’s “Rise Up.” 

In the Judge Cuts round, Hale was given a golden buzzer by guest judge Chris Hardwick after covering Alicia Keys’ “Girl On Fire” and advanced immediately. 

During the live shows, she performed famous hits like “Clarity” by Zedd and Foxes and “Without You” by David Guetta. 

Hale was a finalist on America’s Got Talent: The Champions, where she placed in the bottom 7 of the top 12. – WhatALife!/Val
