Claire Hope, famously known as Lil Tay, passed away, as her family shared on her Instagram regarding her death.
The Canadian pre-teen rapper Lil Tay died unexpectedly as a young teen. The girl earned overnight viral fame as a 9-year-old as she was proclaimed to be the “youngest flexer of the century.” She became famous for her videos on Instagram showing her money and boasting about how rich she is and how poor her haters are.
“It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing,” Hope’s family announced on Lil Tay’s Instagram with 3.3 million followers.
“We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain. This outcome was entirely unexpected, and has left us all in shock. Her brother’s passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief. During this time of immense sorrow, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still under investigation. Claire will forever remain in our hearts, her absence leaving an irreplaceable void that will be felt by all who knew and loved her.”
Lil Tay’s brother also recently passed away, which adds on another baggage for the family. Lil Tay’s brother is one of the reasons why she started becoming a viral star, as he was the one that directed Lil Tay on social media. Lil Tay died without giving the world a sign. After years of disappearance, her first post on social media is a family letter about her death.
Lil Tay was infamous around 2018 associating herself with popular rappers and saying whatever she wanted as if she was above the world. However, after disappearing from the internet for five years, Lil Tay was in a custody battle between her parents.
Allegedly, Lil Tay’s father, Christopher Hope, had a series of abuse allegations against Lil Tay. The abuse allegations stated that her father wanted Lil Tay to go to Canada so that he could take the profits from her earnings.
Lil Tay has even stated that her father wanted her mom arrested, saying, “He was threatening to arrest — to have my mom arrested if we didn’t go back… I didn’t see him for multiple years. He never saw me for so long, it’s obvious he just came back because he wants money.”
However, this news was debunked after Lil Tay’s family provided a statement to the outlet where she claimed that her Instagram account “was compromised by a 3rd party and used to spread jarring misinformation and rumors regarding me.”
According to the TMZ report, Lil Tay said, “I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken and struggling even to find the right words to say. It’s been a very traumatizing 24 hours. All day yesterday, I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones while trying to sort out this mess. – WhatALife!/Zain
