MANILA, PHILIPPINES – In a recent vlog released by Bea Alonzo on her YouTube channel, Ivana Alawi was asked a series of questions in a game called A to Z Challenge.

Prior to the challenge, Bea Alonzo and Ivana had a quick chitchat wherein Bea complimented Alawi’s condominium in Makati. As the challenge begins, both actresses share their answers to the given questions. 

When asked the question, “How do you handle your feelings when you didn’t succeed on something despite hard work?” The actresses reflect on their experiences starting in showbiz.

“Meron ka na ba na failed na anything?” Bea asked Ivana.

“Ito, showbiz.” Ivana answered.

“Ahh, nung umpisa?” Bea said.

“I was starting out nung sa GMA pa, tapos parang hindi talaga sya pumapatok for me, like extra, ganyan,” Ivana said.

“So sabi ko its not for me, ang ginawa ko nalang mag-aral lang, yung nasa utak ko mag-asawa na ako, ganun, change dream ganun,” she added. 

Ivana also shared that her success began when her mom sent her photos to showbiz managers. It was her mom that inspired her to continue auditioning for more roles.  

Ivana also admitted that there were times she compares herself to her sister Mona, because Mona keeps on receiving projects while Ivana never received one. 

Ivana’s career boomed when she started vlogging. Mona encouraged her to pursue this interest, which then became her hobby.

Meanwhile, Bea Alonzo also shared her failed experience in showbiz where after auditioning she didn’t receive any projects for 7 months. 

Her mother was burdened with debt as the cost of becoming a celebrity was high. Additionally, there were instances when Bea would go to church after classes, praying for a new project.

After months of waiting, Bea finally received a project. Out of 500 auditionees, she was chosen to be paired with John Lloyd Cruz that time. 

“Prayer works,” Ivana said.

“Feeling ko, kailangan ko madaanan yung rock bottom para ma appreciate ko yung hard work,” Bea said.
