The Viral Jumpshot Photo

Kim Chiu has been generating buzz lately, especially after a recent jumpshot photo with Paulo Avelino captured the hearts of netizens. The stunning backdrop of Mount Mayon, unobstructed by clouds, added a picturesque charm to the shot. Kim captioned her post with, “May napa jump shot ako sa umaga! [laughing emoji] nicewan @pauavelino.”

When Philippine media outlets caught up with Kim during her launch as the new endorser for BillEase, they couldn’t resist asking about the viral photo with Paulo. The event took place at Luxent Hotel, Quezon City, on the afternoon of June 18, 2024.

Kim revealed that the photo with Paulo was taken earlier that morning in Albay. They were in the province to promote their TV series “Linlang” and “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim.”

“Kanina. Ay, oo. Yung mga tao. Nag-show kami sa Sorsogon at Agusan ni Paulo. Masaya naman kami. Napatalon kami sa dami ng nanonood pala ng Linlang, ng Secretary Kim. Parang punung-punong yung buong plaza pag nag-perform kami,” Kim shared.

Some netizens even joked that Mount Mayon seemed to support the “KimPau” tandem. Kim playfully responded, “Huy! Ganun ba yun? Hindi ko alam. Maganda yung Mayon, wala siyang clouds.”

Kim and Paulo’s Relationship

When asked if she had gotten to know Paulo well, Kim said, “Okay naman, natatawa naman na siya sa akin. Nagkukuwento naman na siya. So, parang sa tagal na rin kaming magkatrabaho.”

The media then touched on a sensitive topic—whether Paulo was the reason she gradually moved on from her breakup with ex-boyfriend Xian Lim. With a smile, Kim replied, “Uy! Ang bilis niya po talaga.”

On whether she thinks things are better with Paulo now after what she’s been through, Kim answered, “Grabe naman yung things are better. Siguro po na nagkataon lang na, ano, na… na okay yung mga nangyayari lately and then yung mga blessings ay dumarating naman na hindi inaasahan. So, parang masaya naman.”

As for whether she and Paulo hang out outside of work, Kim clarified, “Hindi naman. Hindi naman lumalabas sa bahay yun.”

Finally, entertainment editor Janiz Navida asked, “Pero Kim, sa pagkakilala mo kay Paulo, jojowain or totropahin?” To this, Kim smiled and cleverly dodged, “Huy, ang bilis. Mag-download po tayo ng BillEase app.”
