June 17, 2024, marked as Eid al-Adha in the Philippines, holds special significance for Muslims in the country. With that, many have asked, is June 17, 2024 a holiday or is Eid al Adha a regular holiday in the Philippines?
This year, Eid al-Adha falls on June 17 (Monday). The Philippine Official Gazette has just published an official proclamation regarding the celebration.
“Now, therefore I, Ferdinand Marcos Jr.. President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Monday, 17 June 2024, a regular holiday throughout the country, in observance of Eid’l Adha,” reads Proclamation No. 579.
