NBA Finals game 1 between Denver and Miami is set for Thursday, June 1, 2023. The 2022-23 NBA champion will be crowned around June 9 and June 18, depending on the length of the series.
The Nuggets earned the home-court advantage in the series due to their performance in the regular season record. They will host Games 1 and 2 before the Heat hosts games 3 and 4. If it is necessary, games 5 and 7 will be played in Denver, while game 6 will be held in Miami.
Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets will go head-to-head with Jimmy Butler and the Heat in the 2023 NBA Finals. Denver is looking for its first championship in their franchise history, while Miami is looking for its fourth.
As the No.1 seed in the Western Conference, Denver’s road to the finals featured series victories over the 8-seeded Timberwolves and 4-seeded Suns before a sweep over the 7-seeded Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.
Miami shocked the basketball scene by reaching the finals as the no. 8 seed, becoming the first time to achieve such a feat since the Knicks in 1999. They defeated the Bucks and Knicks before taking down the Celtics in a breath-taking seven-game Eastern Conference Finals series.
Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame broadcaster Mike Breen will serve as the voice of the NBA finals, alongside analyst Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson, with Lisa Salters reporting. Breen and Salters were one of the winners at the 2023 Sports Emmy Awards. – WhatALife!/Zain
