Five people have been charged amid a drug investigation that resulted in ‘Friends’ actor, Matthew Perry’s death.
Police revealed last Thursday that their investigation uncovered a broad underground criminal network of connected drug suppliers. Some of those connected involved two of Matthew Perry’s doctors, who “took advantage” of the actor by selling him ketamine.

US Attorney Martin Estrada stated that the defendants took advantage of Matthew Perry’s addiction issues. One of the doctors, Salvador Plasencia, allegedly said in a text message, ‘I wonder how much this moron will pay.
“They knew what they were doing was wrong,” Estrada said. “They knew what they were doing was risking great danger to Mr. Perry, but they did it anyways. In the end, these defendants were more interested in profiting off Mr. Perry than caring for his well being.”
Back in October 2023. A post-mortem examination found that Matthew Perry’s cause of death was a high concentration of ketamine in his blood. Examiners also determined the “acute effects” of the controlled substance had killed him.

Law enforcement added that three of the defendants, including Perry’s assistant, have pleaded guilty to the drug charges. The authorities also arrested the other two individuals—a doctor and Jasveen Sangha, the so-called ‘Ketamine Queen’—as a result. The latter supplied the drug to Plasencia through the help of two other co-defendants, Erik Fleming and doctor Mark Chavez.
The Drug Enforcement Administration said the doctors charged the actor $2,000 per vial. This led to Matthew Perry’s death as his addiction worsened. A Los Angeles court will arraign Ms. Sangha and Mr. Plasencia.
