Kapamilya loveteam Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, known as DonBelle, have whisked their fans away on a culinary adventure through the streets of Binondo in their latest vlog.
In Manila’s Chinatown for their series “Can’t Buy Me Love,” Donny Pangilinan affectionately regards Binondo as their second home.
To share their deep connection with viewers, the two food crawl under the guidance of cuisine and culture expert Ivan Man Dy.
The flavorful expedition started with a sip of brown tea and a daring venture into the world of chopped chili.
True to Ivan’s expertise, their first stop was a venerable restaurant dating back to the 1950s. They indulged in a classic oyster omelet and a kikiam, boasting with a slice of pork and spices.
Continuing, they try fresh Tsinoy lumpia, a concoction Donny described as “a salad wrapped in shawarma.”
Ivan provided insights into its historical roots, tracing its origins to China’s Fujian province before it migrated to the Philippines.
No Binondo journey would be complete without a taste of its empanadas, which Donny likened to “eating sisig inside an empanada.”
Following their culinary escapade, DonBelle revisited familiar locations from “Can’t Buy Me Love,” including Bingo’s house and the iconic old bridge.
Riding a pedicab, the two continue their vlog, enjoying the view of Binondo.
Belle seized the opportunity to buy the trending duck hair clip for a memorable Binondo adventure.
“We are so privileged to be able to work here in an amazing area like Chinatown, Binondo because the culture here is so rich,” remarked Donny.
The series of two, “Can’t Buy Me Love,” airs weeknights on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, A2Z, and Netflix.
