Cleveland Cavaliers beat San Antonio Spurs with a 117-115 NBA final score on Sunday, January 7(Monday on PH time).

Jarrett Allen contributed 29 points and 16 rebounds, while Caris LeVert delivered 23 points as a substitute for the Cavs, dealing the Spurs their fifth consecutive loss.

The French prodigy Wembanyama showcased an impressive performance, tallying 24 points, securing 10 rebounds, and blocking five shots in under 25 minutes of play. This display left an impact on the seven-year veteran Allen.

“He’s talented,” Allen said. “He can take people off the dribble, excellent shot-blocker, post-up he’s got it all.”

Despite Wembanyama’s limited playing time due to an ankle injury, his efforts weren’t enough to lift the Spurs to victory. However, after Cleveland extended their lead to 16 points following an Allen dunk with less than six minutes remaining, San Antonio made a late push, ending the game with an 11-0 scoring streak.

“You know how we do it down here, we like to keep the fans engaged,” Allen joked.

Meanwhile, in Brooklyn, the Portland Trail Blazers secured a 134-127 victory against the Nets after requiring overtime to decide the outcome.

Anfernee Simons, the Portland guard, showcased a dominant performance by scoring 19 of his 38 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, aiding the Trail Blazers in holding off Brooklyn’s Mikal Bridges, who scored 42 points. Bridges’ fadeaway jumper with 1.5 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter forced the game into overtime. Although Brooklyn took an early lead in the extra period, the Blazers surged back by hitting six of their seven field goal attempts.

Malcolm Brogdon’s consecutive three-pointers proved pivotal, propelling the Blazers ahead for good in the game, even after they trailed by 10 points during the second half. Jerami Grant contributed 27 points to the Trail Blazers’ score, while Shaedon Sharpe and Brogdon added 21 and 18 points, respectively.
