Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray arrived in Kenya on Tuesday, October 12, to support the programs of the cleft charity Smile Train.
Upon arriving, the beauty queen met the organization as well as children with cleft.
“Her visit is part of Miss Universe Organization’s partnership with Smile Train to raise awareness of the issues faced by children living with unrepaired clefts in the developing world,” Smile Train Africa said in an Instagram post.
Gray also posted on her Instagram regarding the visit, sharing the story of one of the children she met.
“When people think of cleft treatment, one may think of just the physical transformation for a single child. But Anastasia and Gracie’s story opened our eyes to see that it is so much more than a change on the surface,” Gray shared.
She continued: “Treating one child’s cleft doesn’t just transform that one life. It transforms the life of the parents, the family and the community.”
In addition, she encouraged her fans and followers to support Smile Train.
After Kenya, the 27-year-old beauty queen is expected to fly to South Africa as a backstage host in its national pageant on October 16, alongside Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi. Fellow Miss Universe queen, Pia Wurtzbach, will also be in the pageant as a judge. – WhatALife.ph
