Olympic two-time gold medalist Carlos Yulo finally breaks silence amidst rift with his mother. The athlete finally spoke up after his mother gave interviews about their feud and clarified that she never took his money. However, Carlos set the record straight in a seven-minute TikTok video.
Carlos Yulo’s TikTok, which was uploaded 17 hours ago as of this writing, now has over eleven million views. From the get-go, he clarified that the money his mother pertained to in her Bombo Radyo interview was more than P70,000 for the 2022 World Championships. He then pointed out that it’s more because he won two medals in that event.
The P70,000 in question is the one Angelica mentioned that she used as a bond to open a credit card account. He then proceeded to share that he went home in December of that year. Carlos claims that his mother didn’t disclose that she already received his incentives for that competition.

He then further stated that, “Hindi ko po malalaman na nareceive niya na po ‘yung incentives ko kung hindi ko pa po hinanap. Never ko na po na receive ‘yung incentives na ‘yun. At never ko naman po hiningi ‘yun sa kanila. Binigay ko na nga at wala na po ‘yun saakin. Ang sakin lang naman gusto ko lang malaman kung saan napunta ‘yung incentives ko po na’yon.”
The athlete further shares, “‘Yung principle po kasi dito wala po sa liit o laki ng amount ng incentives po na ginalaw niya. Kundi po sa pagtago at pag-galaw niya na wala po akong consent ‘yung pinapoint ko po sa kanya.”
Carlos Yulo then addressed his mother’s public comments about his girlfriend, Chloe San Jose. He mentioned that she immediately judged his girlfriend despite not knowing her. Carlos shared that his girlfriend and mom had very different upbringings, leading her to judge his partner. He then further shared that she grew up in Australia, which is why they’re very different.
In response to Angelica’s comments about his girlfriend spending his money. Carlos clarified that Chloe spends her own hard-earned money. He expounded that everything the public sees about her, from stuff to traveling, is at her own expense.

Moreover, Carlos revealed that his mother manages his bank accounts. He even went on to point out that there were times when his partner had to pay for him. This crushed all allegations against her that she was using his money.
He also mentioned that his mother is in control of his bank account for his monthly athletic allowances. Aside from this, the couple mentioned that they made efforts to bond with his family. However, his mother was already set on not liking her and even left the group chat they made to get to know each other.
Furthermore, he addressed numerous public statements his mother made. This includes the living situation when Carlos was in training and how his girlfriend was not allowed to stay there. Angelica made comments about how she was concerned that kids would see Chloe inappropriately. He stated that it was harsh of his mother to make those judgments about him and Chloe.
He further shared that they are good role models and wouldn’t dare to show skin when younger people are present. At the end of the video, Carlos wished his mother well and hoped her congratulations were sincere.
