While the rest of the Philippines celebrates Carlos Yulo’s record-breaking Olympic win, his family feels otherwise. In the past day, Carlos Yulo’s issue with his mother began to break the internet with negative posts from his family.

Speculations began when Caloy’s mother shared a Facebook post commending his opponent.

Since then, their family issues have spilled onto the internet, with other family members revealing their strained relationship with the athlete. However, netizens were quick to notice the red flags.

After Carlos Yulo’s win, Filipinos quickly commented on his mother’s Facebook post, defending the athlete.

Since Carlos Yulo’s issue with his mother went public, she gave an exclusive interview and discussed her relationship with him. The interview opens with how she took his cash incentive and used it for bonds to open a credit card account. She also added that she had discussed with her son how to return his money.

She further shared that Caloy’s girlfriend, Chloe Anjelieh, is the root of all their issues. Their issues started when his girlfriend was set to sleep in his dormitory around the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

“Pero sa tingin mo ‘yung anak ko– is fifteen years old. Sa tingin niyo ba patutulugin ko, yung anak ko? Ay isa lang siya eh. Para lang siyang ano studio type. So maliit lang talaga siya, mas maliit pa nga siya. So, patutulugin ko ‘yung anak ko? Menor de edad kasama siya at ‘yung babae? Diba?”

She further adds, “Pangalawa, si Miguel hindi rin papayagan ng parent niya. Na sinabi saakin na, ‘Angelica, mag meeting tayo. Hindi ko papayagan si Miguel na matulog din don. Syempre mahirap, puro lalaki eh. (inaudible) Na mapatingin o something. Actually yun din ang sabi ni coach eh, baka mapatingin si Miguel sa pwet dahil nakakalat. Maging masama yung bata.”
