Majority floor leader Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya said that the Clean As You Go (CLAYGO) Ordinance which was recently approved by the 19th City Council, is set to be strictly enforced in Cagayan de Oro City. Under the City Ordinance No. 13968-2020, establishments are now required to follow the CLAYGO policy strictly through placing signages, markings, (segregated) trash cans, and designated areas dedicated for the mandate. The ordinance aims to encourage and discipline citizens to each clean their area after dining in a restaurant, eatery, fast food chains, and other food establishments. Nacaya said the implementation of the ordinance is necessary and just in instilling discipline for every citizen, and is possible to happen through the efforts of the current administration and cooperation from everyone. The Majority floor leader added that he is looking forward that everyone will take part of the responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness in the city.
