City Health Officials announced nine new positive cases for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Cagayan de Oro on Monday, August 31.
In today’s press briefing, City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery reported nine new COVID-19 confirmed cases, of which four are local cases and one is a returning overseas Filipino (ROF) worker, and five are locally stranded individuals (LSIs).
The total cumulative cases for COVID-19 in the city is 291.
Out of the cumulative total, 84 or 28.86 percent are active cases, six currently admitted at Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), 22 outpatients staying at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF), and 56 cases under the ROF/LSI category.
Dr. Nery also announced 16 new recoveries, bringing the total recovery count to 196 (67.35%), while two new deaths were added, total now at 11 (3.7%).
Of the 291 cumulative total, 224 are under the LSI/ROF category, constituting 76.97 percent, with 56 active cases, 1 death (ROF), and 167 recovered. Meanwhile, local cases rise to 67 , bringing the total percentage to 23 percent, with 22 active cases, ten deaths, and 29 recoveries.

Likewise, the active health surveillance is ongoing in five contained areas in the city, including Zone 7, Brgy Carmen (to be lifted tomorrow); Macapaya, Brgy Camaman-an; Purok 4, Sta Cruz, Brgy Camaman-an; Zone 4B, Brgy Gusa; and Phase 2 Habitat, Brgy Indahag; Phase 1, NHA, Brgy Kauswagan; San Juan Tabaco, Brgy Puntod, Purok 3, Bayanihan, Brgy Gusa; Zone 2 Talidhay, Brgy Cugman; Barra-Macabalan; Zone 1 Brgy Puntod; Purok 4A, Brgy Gusa.
