Cagayan de Oro City reported 39 new confirmed cases for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Tuesday, May 11, 2021.

In today’s press briefing, City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said the city logged 39 new confirmed cases as of 10 PM yesterday, 15 of which are local cases with known links, five local APORs, 18 local index cases, and one death.

With this, the city has a total cumulative of 5,469 COVID-19 cases.

Out of the total cumulative, 758 are active cases, 196 are currently admitted at Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), 560 outpatients staying at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF), and two cases under the ROF/LSI category.

Dr. Nery also announced 29 new recoveries and one death, bringing the total recovery and death cases to 4,481 and 230 respectively.

Aside from the COVID-19 admissions in NMMC, Dr. Nery said that as of 5PM of May 10, there are now 110 COVID-19 admissions in different hospitals in the city, including JR Borja Hospital, Camp Evangelista Hospital, and private hospitals.

In case you missed it in yesterday’s press briefing, Dr. Bernard-Julius announced that NMMC has already elevated its alert response to code yellow. This means that the state hospital will now slow down some general and basic services to prioritize COVID-19 patients.
