SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA — BTS member Park Jimin who tested positive for COVID and underwent surgery for acute appendicitis, reassures fans that he is doing fine on Weverse.
On Monday (January 31), Big Hit Music management announced that Jimin tested positive for COVID and went through surgery at the same time. The singer and dancer star was first brought to the hospital on Sunday due to sudden abdominal pain and mild sore throat.
The statement said that Jimin was due for several days of in-patient treatment for both the virus recovery and postoperative care.
This is not the first time that a member of the worldwide hit boy band group tested positive for COVID. In fact, three members were tested positive in December – Rappers RM and Suga, and vocalist Jin. This was after the group finished their series of live shows in the United States then returned to Korea.
It was BTS’ first series of concerts in the country since 2019 during their tour around Asia, North America, and Europe.
