bridgerton announces benedicts sophie for season 4

Actress Yerin Ha has been confirmed to portray Sophie Beckett in the highly anticipated Bridgerton Season 4. Known as the “Lady in Silver,” Sophie is the counterpart to Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson.

Bridgerton is a television adaptation of books written by Julia Quinn. It’s set in Regency London and follows the journey of the Bridgerton siblings’ journey to find love and marriage. In its fourth season, it’s Benedict’s turn in the limelight. He’s the family’s second son, known for his bohemian and carefree lifestyle.

Bridgerton Season 4 will be based on the events in the third installment of the book series “An Offer From A Gentleman.” In the novel, Yerin Ha’s character, Sophie, is the daughter of an earl and one of his maids. Although she’s brought up in his house, he doesn’t claim her as his daughter. Somehow, Benedict and Sophie will meet at Violet Bridgerton’s (Benedict’s mother) masquerade ball.

As per Netflix’s logline: “The fourth season of Bridgerton turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict. Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”

Even before Netflix confirmed that Season 4 would be about Benedict’s love story, Sophie’s casting was already highly anticipated. At the end of Season 3, the final episode teased that Eloise (played by Claudia Jesse) will be off to Scotland with Francesca and will be back for their mother’s ball. This sparked fan speculation that the masquerade is where Benedict and Sophie will meet.

Aside from playing Sophie Beckett, Yerin Ha is known for her role in the series adaptation of Halo. In November, she’ll also appear in Max’s prequel series, Dune: Prophecy.
