President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. shared that for his birthday, his wish is to enhance the lives of farmers by helping various government agricultural programs.

On Friday, September 13th, Bongbong Marcos spent his 67th birthday leading the launch of the ‘Agri Puhunan at Pantawid’ (APP) program in Nueva Ecija.

“Birthday wish, marami ito, na talagang lahat ng bawat magsasaka sa Pilipinas maramdaman itong programang ito at lahat ng programa na ginagawa sa DA (Department of Agriculture),” Marcos told reporters at the event.

“Iyong buong sistema ng agrikultura, ay ang birthday wish ko, mabuo na natin para maganda ang takbo ng sektor ng agrikultura para gumanda ang buhay ng bawat magsasaka ng kanilang pamilya at ng bawat Pilipino,” he added.

“Under the Agripuhunan and Pantawid Program, farmers will receive an interventions monitoring card that can be used to purchase seeds, fertilizers, and other farming equipment from accredited merchants,” Marcos continued.

“Wala nang pangambang maloloko sa presyo. Wala nang alalahanin sa kakulangan ng pondo,” he said.

One of the APP’s goals is to improve farmers’ productivity and income by providing them with financial assistance, low-cost credit, and a ready market for their harvests. 

“Layunin natin na matugunan ang ilang mga pangangailangan ng inyong pamilya habang kayo ay [naghihintay] sa pagtubo ng inyong mga pananim,” Bongbong Marcos said.

“Kayo ang bumubuhay sa ating bayan. Sa inyo nagmumula ang ating kasaganahan. Sa inyong mga kamay nakasalalay ang seguridad ng pagkain ng ating bansa,” he added.

“Nararapat lamang na gunitain natin at kilalanin natin ang inyong kabayanihan at bigyang-pugay ang inyong walang kapantay na kahusayan at kasipagan.”

In other news, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos shared a post on Facebook, greeting her husband on his special day.

“To the sweetest and kindest soul I’ve ever known. I’m so proud of everything you’ve accomplished, and through it all, you’ve remained the same tender-hearted, compassionate person who first captured my heart,” Liza wrote in her post.

She ended it with a sweet message saying, “I love you to the moon and back, and I always will ❤️.”
