Celebrity former couple Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque confirmed their breakup in an Instagram post on Sunday, February 11.
Bea and Dominic addressed their followers and the public in a joint message they posted on Instagram.
“After much thought, consideration, and care, we have mutually decided to amicably end our engagement. It was not an easy decision. We wanted to have more time to carefully deliberate and pray about it, but there have been many speculations, questions, and insults,” the statement read.
“Unfortunately some even confirmed our breakup without our consent, created ridiculous stories that had no basis and were utterly false, so we felt the need to share this announcement with great sadness, for our peace of mind and our families.”
The former couple asked for understanding that what they have gone through is an “extremely painful yet united decision.”
“We sincerely request for everyone to kindly spare us from more cruel and very hurtful words thrown on social media,” they said. “We kindly request to give us the privacy we need as we navigate our future lives with respect, kindness, compassion, and dignity.”
In January 2021, Bea and Dominic started dating. In August of that same year, the Kapuso actress announced their romance.
The couple was supposed to tie the knot this year after becoming engaged in July. However, Boy Abunda revealed last week that they had split up, following the spread of online reports of their breakup.
The King of Talk advised people to use their words a little more gently and warned them that speculating can be perilous.
Dominic stood up for Bea as well, telling everyone that she is a lovely person on the inside and out and asking them to stop insulting and demeaning her. Bea’s close friend and “One More Chance” co-star Beatriz Saw supported the actress as well.
