Apple unveiled their new iPhone 16e, the “newest family member” of its lineup, at their Apple Launch event on February 19, 2025. The new product positions itself as a more affordable option within the lineup.
With fierce competition among budget phones, Apple re-enters the market since their iPhone SE 3 in 2022.
Design
The design of iPhone 16e features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display, aluminum with glass back, and action button.
Specifications
Here are the features of the new iPhone 16e:
- Display: 6.1-inch OLED with edge-to-edge design
- Processor: A18 chip with 6-core CPU and 4-core GPU
- Camera: 48MP Fusion camera with integrated 2x telephoto
- Apple Intelligence: Includes Photo Clean Up, Image Playground, Writing Tools, new Siri, ChatGPT, and Visual Intelligence
- Battery: Lasts up to six hours longer than iPhone 11; up to 12 hours longer than all generations of iPhone SE
- Storage: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB options
- Colors: Available in black and white
Apart from the above-mentioned specifications, Apple also introduced their new Apple C1, their first cellular modem in this model.
Pre-order and Availability
The price of the new iPhone 16e starts at Php 39,990 for the 128GB variant, Php 46,990 for 256GB, and Php 58,990 for 512GB.
Pre-order will be available starting on February 21, 2025 in 59 countries and regions including the United States, China, and India, with general availability beginning February 28, 2025 at the Apple Store.
But in the Philippines, delivery is currently unavailable.
What’s in the box?
The box will include the iPhone 16e and a USB-C Charging cable.
Does iPhone 16e have a MagSafe feature?
Similar with iPhone SE models, the iPhone 16e doesn’t have a MagSafe feature which may become a dealbreaker for others.
