Angelica Yulo, the mother of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, has been invited to join the Mrs. Philippines 2025 pageant. The organization’s president, Erika Joy Santos, has extended the invitation.
In an interview, Santos told reporters that Angelica was welcome to join the contest and expressed her wish to talk with the gymnast’s mother over coffee.
“I really wish to speak with her. Maybe I can be somehow a relief to her, kahit coffee lang… She’s very welcome to be joining the Mrs. Philippines 2025. Why not?” she said.

Santos also revealed she feels for Angelica Yulo because they’re both mothers.
“I think na naging gymnast yung mga anak niya because naghirap din siya for it. She surely sacrificed a lot of things para ma-suportahan lahat ng anak niya. And I believe in the goodness and kindness of motherhood.” Santos said.

However, she doesn’t want to meddle with the Yulo family drama, so Erika Santos gives Angelica some advice instead.
“So my advice to Miss Angelica Yulo is to love yourself. Stop crying. Always smile. And remember that time heals all wounds!” Santos said.
“Mga nanay tayo. Hindi natin kayang tiisin ang ating mga anak. In God’s time,” she added.
“I don’t know the facts. I don’t want my feelings to meddle with the ongoing feud with them,” Santos continued.

When asked what parenting advice she can give to Carlos Yulo’s mom, Erika Santos simply said that “life must go on.”
“You know how much I cried when my son went to live in Manila? I cried a lot for a month. It’s so hard to be apart from a child you’ve delivered and raised for so long. Then, aalis na. It really hurts,” Santos said.
“But you know, life must go on. Ganun talaga ang buhay. Someday, our children will be independent and be separated from us. So, maaga pa lang, tanggapin mo na. But it’s still hard,” she added.
