In a press conference held today, Andi Eigenmann, daughter of the late actress Jaclyn Jose, tearfully disclosed the cause of her mother’s unexpected demise.
Surrounded by family, including her half-brother Gabby Eigenmann, who supported her throughout the announcement.
Andi revealed that the celebrated actress passed away due to myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack, at the age of 60.
“At the age of 60 on the morning of March 2, 2024, due to myocardial infarction or heart attack. We’d like to thank everyone who was send extended prayers and condolences to us.” Andi announced.
This official disclosure comes after Jaclyn Jose’s talent management, PPL Entertainment, previously issued a statement requesting privacy for the family without specifying the cause of death.
“The Guck and Eigenmann families are requesting for everyone to please pray for the eternal repose of Miss Jaclyn Jose and for them to be allowed the respect and privacy to mourn her passing and navigate these difficult times,” the management’s statement read.
During the press conference, an emotional Andi expressed gratitude towards those who extended their prayers and condolences and requested privacy for the family to grieve.
She emphasized the lasting impact of her mother’s legacy through her work, children, grandchildren, and the numerous lives she touched.
“Her life itself was her greatest obra maestra,” Andi stated, visibly moved, as Gabby Eigenmann comforted her.
The news of Jaclyn Jose’s passing has shocked and saddened fans and colleagues, leaving a void in the Philippine entertainment industry where her talent and contributions have been greatly admired.
Jaclyn Jose’s remains are at Arlington Memorial Chapels in Araneta, Quezon City, with plans for cremation already underway.
The family has yet to receive news regarding the return of Andi’s sister and Jaclyn’s youngest daughter, Gwen Garimond Ilagan Guck, who is currently studying in the United States.
