PlayStation has officially confirmed details about its latest console, the PS5 Pro, much to fan anticipation.
Lead architect Mark Cerny unveiled the console during PlayStation’s live-stream presentation last Tuesday. He revealed some of its unique specs and features and how it compares to its predecessors.

The PS5 Pro is a disc-less console with the option to purchase the PS5 disc drive separately. The console’s GPU upgrade includes 67% more compute units than its predecessor, matching the 28% faster memory. These two features would also contribute to 45% faster rendering for smoother gameplay.
The latest console also comes with powerful ray tracing technology in order to provide more dynamic reflection and refraction of light. Moreover, the PS5 Pro will be the first to introduce the “PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution.” This AI-driven technology will provide sharp image clarity with extraordinary detail amounts.
PlayStation also stated that some games will be patched with free software updates, which will be marked with a “PS5 Pro Enhanced” label. Some of these games include “Assassin’s Creed: Shadows,” “Dragon’s Dogma 2,” “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth,” and “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.”
In terms of physical aspects, the company revealed the PS5 Pro comes at the same height as the original PS5.

PlayStation has revealed the console will launch on November 7 and will reach up to $700. Previously, the PlayStation 5 price in the Philippines ranges around ₱23,990 to ₱27,065. Once the PS5 Pro launches and becomes available in the country, its price may potentially reach ₱40,000 or more.
Ironically, the console’s price has also been a debate among fans since its announcement.
That said, Sony’s livestream announcement has added that the PS5 pre-order availability will begin on September 26.
