Pittsburgh Special Agent Kevin Rojek announced that the FBI is still investigating the suspect’s motives. The assassination attempt on Donald Trump by Crook resulted in the death of one spectator and critically injured two others. The former president was hit in the ear before being evacuated.

ABC News reported that Crook’s former schoolmates described him as a “quiet” and “lonely” student. One schoolmate noted he was “socially reserved” and never discussed politics, including Trump. Jason Kohler, another classmate, mentioned that Crook was frequently bullied.
He recounted how Crooks was teased for his attire, noting that he sometimes wore hunting outfits. Crooks graduated from high school in 2022. Officials also confirmed that the suspect has no military affiliation.
Many believe the assassination attempt on Donald Trump was politically motivated, and officials are still assessing its credibility. Further investigation reveals he was a registered Republican but had previously donated to a Democratic-aligned committee. The FBI also noted that Crooks had no history of mental illness.
“We’re looking into his background, his day-to-day activities, any writings, and social media posts that might help us identify what led to this shooting. And we have not seen anything threatening,” Rojek stated. The shooter’s family and even the social media platform, Discord are cooperating with law enforcement. However, the investigators still found no further evidence.
