The world’s top four wheelchair tennis players started the tournament on the clay courts. As of this article’s writing, the latest results for Wheelchair Tennis in the Paralympics 2024 include Gordon Reid and Alfie Hewett becoming quarter-finalists after their straight-set wins.
Hewett, in particular, gained a 7-5, 6-2 victory after undergoing a dramatic play with Japan’s Daisuke Arai. The British No.1 player was forced to save four set points to stay in contention during the opening. Despite the previous matter, Hewett improves after securing the set with his trusty forehand.
On Reid’s side, he overcame Japan’s Takuya Miki by 6-1, making the former unbeaten in 19 matches against the ninth seed. Meanwhile, Shuker’s time in Paris ended after she lost 6-0, 6-2 to Xiaohui Li of China, who previously ended Diede de Groot’s 145-match winning streak at the World Team Cup in May.

Moreover, Andy Lapthorne and Greg Slade will play the Quad Doubles gold medal match on Wednesday following their singles exit.
