Vice President Sara Duterte is currently in Germany with her family while Metro Manila grapples with the devastation caused by Typhoon Carina.
Duterte and her family departed from Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal on a flight bound for Dubai en route to Munich. The family includes Mans Carpio, Elizabeth Zimmerman, and their three children/ Their flight took off around 12:30 AM.
In response to the news of Duterte’s trip, netizens have taken to social media. They express their confusion about her decision to leave the country amid Typhoon Carina. It has resulted in some of the worst flooding the capital has seen in recent years.

“The trip of Sarah Duterte to Germany was long planned and booked. It was not a spur-of-the-moment decision to take a vacation.” a source in the Office of the Vice President stated. “Instead, the family took what was planned and booked before.”
Many individuals speculate that the purpose of their trip was to visit relatives on Zimmerman’s side of the family. However, this has not yet been officially confirmed. Additionally, no information has been released regarding when Sara Duterte will depart from Germany, as interest in the Vice President’s activities continues to increase.
It comes in light of her announcement about not attending this year’s SONA and the unexpected relief of 75 of her security personnel from duty.

The Office of the Vice President has issued a press statement regarding the “relief boxes” being prepared for families affected by the typhoon.
They are currently awaiting confirmation from the Office of Civil Defense to formally commence the distribution of these supplies. The relief boxes will be delivered to various locations within the capital as rescue operations continue.
