Vice Ganda’s newest movie and 50th Metro Manila Film Festival entry, “And the Breadwinner Is…” drops its official teaser. The film showcases the struggle of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) and the problems she faces as she returns home.

Jun Robles Lana directed the movie, while Daisy Cayanan and Jumbo Albano wrote it. The film follows Bambi Salvador, portrayed by Vice Ganda, a returning OFW.

While she was abroad, Bambi believed her family spent the money she sent to renovate their home. However, their home appeared the same when she returned to the Philippines.

The trailer starts off with two friends, both OFWs, discussing the uncertainties of Filipinos working abroad. “Ganito naman talaga buhay natin dito diba? Walang guarantee. Pero huwag niyong sukuan. Buhay OFW nga naman.”

The sneak peek also revealed other stars who joined her in the movie. It shows It’s Showtime co-host Jhong Hilario as one of her siblings. Moreover, the trailer also revealed that MAPA by SB19 is “And the Breadwinner Is’…” official soundtrack.

This Vice Ganda latest news came a few days after her team’s It’s Showtime Magpasikat performance. They surprised the crowd with an appearance from SB19, Carlos Yulo, and Awra Briguela.

When talking about Vice Ganda’s new movie during its initial release in July, she said that this was her first drama-focused film.

The actress and TV host said, “First time na malaki ‘yung part ng drama dun sa film. Kasi usually comedy talaga siya. Parang 98% comedy, tapos ‘yung drama may isang scene lang. Kasi gusto ko talaga the entire experience is just fun pag pelikula ko ‘yung pinapanood.

Pero kinoconsider din namin ‘yung mga reaksyon ng mga tao. Ang mga hinahanap nila, ang mga dinedemand nila.”
