Filipino superstar Vice Ganda briefly confronts an audience member during the shooting of “It’s Showtime.”

A random user uploaded a short TikTok video of Vice walking towards the audience to meet an eager fan. The fan, who is a mother, is pushing her daughter towards the star for a picture. The interaction was wholesome initially, with Vice saying, “Mag-picture tayo.”

However, the sad look on the child’s face potentially hints that she doesn’t want to be in the situation.

Things take a turn for the worse when the girl’s mother pushes her further towards Vice, causing the latter to push back. The audience laughs, but Vice remains unamused.

“Bakit mo ginagawa ‘yan sa bata?” Vice Ganda questions the mother, tending to the crying girl as the clip ends.

Many users have commented about the mother’s actions.

“May mga nanay talagang ganyan. Yung may social anxiety yung bata, pipilitin tapos threatened na papaluin pag-uwi,” one user commented.

“Bat kasi hindi na lang yung nanay magpapicture mukang sya naman may gusto?” another user added, questioning the mother’s actions.

The TikTok video has been shared on a Reddit post and has garnered similar reactions from netizens. Most comments criticize the mother for forcing her daughter into a situation with which she is visibly uncomfortable. 

As of this article’s writing, the short video has garnered more than 400 comments and 180 thousand likes. On the other hand, many comments also praised Vice Ganda for calling the mother out.

“Satisfied ako sa ginawa ni meme hahahaha dasurv!” A Tiktok user stated in regards to Vice’s action.

“Tama lang ginawa ni Vice. Iganti nang tulak dun sa nanay lol kalerks iniintindi pa pagpapa picture kesa anak na naiiyak na nga sa kakatulak nya,” A Reddit user also praises Vice on the video clip.

Despite the increasing popularity of the TikTok video, Vice Ganda has not made any further statements regarding the matter.
