The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) has once again demonstrated excellence in engineering education, ranking third among the top-performing schools in the February 2025 Mechanical Engineers Licensure Examination, as per the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). 

USTP recorded an 80.52% passing rate, with 62 out of 77 examinees successfully earning their licenses.

This year, the University of the Philippines – Diliman claimed the top spot with a 92.31% passing rate, while Batangas State University – Alangilan secured second place with 84.00%.

The Mechanical Engineers Licensure Examination is known for its rigorous assessment of engineering principles, problem-solving skills, and technical knowledge. 

USTP’s continued excellence in the exams is a testament to its high-quality engineering programs and faculty expertise.

In 2022, USTP ranked Top 4 with an 83.72% passing rate. The following year, in 2023, the university achieved the Top 1 spot with an impressive 97.33% passing rate. 

USTP continued its dominance in 2024, once again ranking Top 1 with a 100% passing rate. In the most recent February 2025 licensure exam, USTP secured the Top 3 position with an 80.52% passing rate.
