The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced a grim update on the case of Elliot O’Neill Eastman, the American vlogger abducted in Zamboanga del Norte in October.
According to police spokeswoman Jean Fajardo, testimonies from witnesses and a suspect suggest that Eastman, widely known as Elliot Eastman YouTube creator, likely died on the day of his abduction.
Eastman, who had been living in the Philippines since May, was forcibly taken from his coastal home in Sibuco on October 17. It is believed that these individuals are armed men posing as law enforcement officers.
Police reports reveal that the abductors shot Eastman twice—once in the leg and once in the abdomen—before transporting him on a boat.

According to Lt. Col. Ramoncelio Sawan, acting spokesperson for Police Regional Office IX, a suspect claimed during a confession that Eastman succumbed to his injuries on the boat, and his body was thrown into the sea.
Despite extensive searches along nearby shores and islands, Eastman’s body has not yet been recovered. This absence has made closure difficult for the family of Elliot Onil Eastman, who are being closely updated on the investigation.
The PNP has arrested four men in connection with the case, while four additional suspects remain at large.
Charges of kidnapping and serious illegal detention have been filed against six individuals. However, authorities have yet to determine the motive for the abduction of the YouTuber kidnapped in the Philippines.
