On October 24, 2024, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that the Certified Public Accountants Licensure Exam (CPALE) will be postponed.
According to the PRC’s Facebook post, the decision to postpone the exams was due to Typhoon Kristine.

“The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) informs the public that the Certified Public Accountants Licensure Examination (CPALE) scheduled on October 25, 26, and 27, 2024, is postponed nationwide and to be rescheduled to a later date,” the statement wrote.
“This is due to the onslaught and impact of the severe tropical storm “Kristine” affecting examinees and various testing centers nationwide. Please wait for further announcement on the new schedule of exams,” it added.
The CPALE was supposed to take place at testing centers nationwide. However, multiple reports indicate that around seven of these locations are under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1. These include, but are not limited to, Metro Manila, Baguio, Lucena, and Legazpi.
As of this article’s writing, the rescheduled dates have not yet been confirmed.

The CPALE is a crucial assessment for accounting graduates. This exam is conducted twice a year and revolves around six subjects. Each subject covers accounting, auditing, taxation, and business regulations.
Known for its challenging nature, students who take the exams must achieve an average of at least 75% and above. This strict focus prepares candidates to face real-world accounting scenarios and challenges.
