The Voice Kids Philippines Contestant Shares Father’s Support

The Voice Kids Philippines is finally nearing its blind auditions, with coaches almost completing their rosters.

In the latest episode, Keith Nathan Perez touched viewers with his story and performance of “Bukas Nalang Kita Mamahalin.” The twelve-year-old shared how accepting his father was accepting of his sexuality.

His audition tape showed Keith talking about his parents and his sexuality. He shared that his father was very accepting of his preferences, even at a young age. Due to his performance, Coach Pablo of The Voice Kids Philippines added him to his team based on last night’s episode.

“Super supportive siya kahit ganito ako, like hindi ako straight. Hindi niya ako pinapalo. ‘Yung ibang daddy na pag may gay silang anak, pinapalo (nila). Sobrang bait niya po.”

During his audition, fans saw how supportive his father is. In fact, his father accompanied him to his auditions and was even emotional during his performance. Nathan also mentioned that his father always goes with him during singing events. Once he returned backstage, he quickly hugged his father, who congratulated him for securing a spot on Pablo’s team.

Moreover, the judges praised Nathan for his performance of the difficult song. They also pointed out how much emotion was poured into the track.

“Grabe yung emotion tapos akala namin umiiyak ka. Pero nalalaro mo lang pala ‘yung emotions habang kumakanta ka,” Stell commented.

“Yun talaga nagpatalikod saakin kasi, to be honest with you, hindi perfect ‘yung performance. Merong mga flats here and there, merong mga pitchy notes. Pero, naramdamanan ko ‘yung kanta eh. Kumbaga naka connect ako sa’yo dahil napadama mo saakin ‘yung sakit. So, ang galing-galing mo sa part na ‘yun,” Pablo shared.

For his The Voice Kids Philippines audition tape, Nathan also shared that both his parents are unemployed. Additionally, he also mentioned their family’s struggle after his mom was involved in an accident. Fortunately, she’s better now.

Over the years, the TV show garnered multiple champions. The Voice Kids Philippines winners included Lyca Gairanod, Elha Nympha, Joshua Oliveros, and more. In addition, it has produced numerous star-studded singers for the new generation, including Juan Karlos and Darren Espanto.

However, The Voice Kids Philippines is on season 1 for its first run on the GMA Network.
