“Woman of the Hour,” a film based on the ‘Dating Game Killer’ is coming to Netflix this October.
The film marks the directorial debut of Anna Kendrick, who also stars in the film as one of the contestants who would go on a date with a serial killer. The film will also feature Daniel Zovatto, Nicolette Robinson, Tony Hale, and Kathryn Gallagher.

Woman of the Hour” tells the story of Cheryl Bradshaw, a contestant on a live TV show called “The Dating Game.” During the show, her blind date is revealed as the infamous serial killer Rodney Alcala. Today, people call him the ‘Dating Game Killer.’
Alcala, who Zovatto plays in the film, has claimed that he took the lives of more than 130 victims at his time. However, law enforcement can only confirm eight victims.
The “Dating Game Killer film” puts the whole focus on the killer’s victims as a way to give voice to those Alcala has robbed. Kendrick shows the film as an exploration of the dark side of fame and violence. The killer in the film serves as a reflection of how people in real life are unaware of the dangers hiding behind a charismatic and charming face.

The appearance of the ‘Dating Game Killer’ on Netflix adds to the growing lists of the platform’s collection of ‘serial killer’ genres. The platform has released the smashing-hit series that features Jeffrey Dahmer and a follow-up sequel featuring the Menendez Brothers.
