Taylor Swift Era Tour is scheduled to resume at London’s Wembley Stadium on Thursday, August 15, after authorities cancelled her concert in Vienna following a foiled terrorist threat.
London police confirmed that the security for the five scheduled shows will be tighter. After all, organizers expect 90,000 fans to attend each night. The police also assured that there is nothing to indicate that events in Vienna would affect the London shows.
‘Tay-gating,’ the practice of gathering outside a Taylor Swift Eras Tour show without a ticket, is also discouraged for the London concerts as authorities try to minimize hard-to-control factors outside the venue.

“Wembley Stadium’s official website posted that to ensure everyone’s safe entry and exit, staff will not allow anyone to stand outside any entrance or on the Olympic Steps at the front of the stadium. Staff will remove non-ticket holders.”
Fans at Wembley will pass through metal detectors and can bring only one small bag into the stadium. They cannot bring glass or metal containers, laptops, or umbrellas inside the venue.
Security experts said British police had learnt from the Manchester attack, where a suicide bomber attacked an Ariana Grande concert in 2017. The attack killed 22 people, including children, police, and event organizers.
Taylor Swift has not released any statement regarding the Vienna cancellations.

Security experts confirmed that Wembley Stadium staff will undergo re-vetting. They made this decision after discovering that one of the Vienna suspects worked there.
Noah Price, International Academy Director at G4S, announced that they will enhance the venue’s levels of protection. They will closely monitor staffing patterns to ensure security.
“The insider threat is actually the most prevalent (…) because it has unfettered access,” he said.
“You’ve got to look at unusual behavior. People turning up earlier or leaving later. Look at the access control logs.” he added.
Wembley Stadium’s website also clarified the message regarding tighter security in a language they can understand: “Read all the information provided and take note of what you can and can’t do. Don’t Shake It Off as not important.”
