MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Following days of speculation surrounding a rumored romance between global pop icon Taylor Swift and The 1975’s lead singer, Matty Healy, the relationship has been confirmed.
Entertainment Tonight recently revealed that Swift and Healy are, in fact, seeing each other and have developed genuine feelings for one another.
According to an insider who spoke to the outlet “Taylor and Matty like each other.”
“Taylor has a crush on Matty, and they are having a good time hanging out. Matty also thinks Taylor is awesome and incredibly talented too. They dated briefly in the past,” said the insider.
A second source disclosed to Entertainment Tonight that the reconnection between Swift and Healy was facilitated by Jack Antonoff, a close collaborator of Swift’s.
“Taylor and Matty have been hanging out recently, and Jack Antonoff reconnected them,” the source stated.
This news comes in the wake of Entertainment Tonight’s earlier report in April, which announced the end of Swift’s six-year relationship with actor Joe Alwyn. Although their split occurred privately in March, the public revelation of their breakup came later.
Fueling the speculation surrounding their romantic involvement, Swift and Healy were spotted arriving together at Swift’s Nashville condominium at 12:30 a.m., Sunday. Their rendezvous occurred shortly after Swift’s Eras concert in Nashville, during which Healy made a guest appearance alongside Phoebe Bridgers.
Confirmation of their relationship followed the circulation of a viral video showing Swift and Healy separately uttering the same line on stage during their respective concerts. Both artists declared, “This one is about you. You know who you are. I love you.” Swift made the statement while Healy was present in the audience. The heartwarming gesture further fueled rumors of their rekindled romance.
Swift and Healy were first linked romantically in December 2014. However, Healy denied any involvement in an interaction on Twitter in March 2016, defending Swift against media scrutiny. Healy expressed his admiration for her and criticized the relentless questioning he faced about their alleged relationship, despite not having dated her.
“I didn’t even date Taylor, but the media’s incessant and brutal obsession with her has meant that even a guy who DIDN’T DATE HER has been so battered by their never-ending questions that he’s inevitably said something that can be lifted and molded into something that resembles ‘shade.’ It’s really sad,” Matty said. – WhatALife!/Jayve
