American singer Taylor Swift speaks out on her Instagram story that she was in “complete shock” after the mass stabbing in Southport, North West England. As of Tuesday, three girls had been stabbed to death, and five other kids were critically wounded at a Taylor-Swift yoga and dance workshop.

In addition, three other children also suffered from stab wounds, while two adults are in critical condition. Chief Constable Serena Kennedy of the Merseyside police said, “We believe that the adults who were injured were trying to protect the children at the time they were attacked.”

The suspect of the Southport stabbing is a 17-year-old male who is in police custody on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Police said the attack was not terrorism-related.

Taylor Swift responded on Tuesday, expressing horror at the crime and expressed her sympathy for the victims and their families.

“The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously,” Swift wrote. “These were just little kids at a dance class,” Swift added. “I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”

Police on Tuesday confirmed that the third child had died from injuries sustained in the attack. They also named the victims: Bebe King, aged 6, Elsie Dot Stancombe, aged 7, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, aged 9.

“Keep smiling and dancing like you love to do our Princess, like we said before to you, you’re always our princess and no one would change that. Love from Your Hero Daddy and Mummy,” Aguiar’s family said in a statement.

In their tribute, King’s family said: “No words can describe the devastation that has hit our family as we try to deal with the loss of our little girl Bebe.”
