K-pop star Jeonghan of the boy group SEVENTEEN has confirmed his mandatory service in the Korean Military. The group’s label, Pledis Entertainment, shared the announcement through a social media post and confirmed that Jeonghan’s enlistment date will be September 26.
Pledis Entertainment announced, “We wish to share the news of Jeonghan’s upcoming enlistment into the military, scheduled for September 26, 2024. ” They posted the news on the fan community platform Weverse.

The agency shared prior news that SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan will only appear in various content, citing safety concerns. They also requested fans carefully consider their decision to meet the singer at the military site.
“As announced before, he will not be able to take part in the promotional activities for SEVENTEEN’s 12th mini album and the world tour. However, he will appear in various pre-recorded content.” Pledis has also requested fans not to visit the site of his military services for safety reasons.
They end their post by encouraging fans to send messages to the K-pop idol instead via Weverse.
“Kindly send your best wishes for his safe and healthy return. We will also stay committed to providing Jeonghan with all the necessary support during this time.”

Jeonghan will be the first member of SEVENTEEN to enlist in the military. The group’s leader, S.coups, will be exempted due to his knee surgery. He had undergone reconstruction surgery ever since.
In January, SEVENTEEN held two sold-out concerts at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan for their Follow tour. The concert film from the tour premiered in Philippine cinemas on August 21.
Members Seungkwan, DK, and Hoshi also visited the country in December 2023 for the Asia Artist Awards. At this event, they performed “Fighting.”
