Since the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards announced their winners online, the P-Pop community has been ecstatic. The hashtag #SB19WinsKidsChoiceAwards has been trending since yesterday’s announcement.

This accolade is a significant addition to the growing list of SB19’s awards. In fact, fans have expressed their love and pride for the group, affectionately known as the Mahalima, which means “mahal ang lima.”

The Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards is an annual celebration of kid-friendly entertainment. It features the categories like Favorite TV Show, Movie, Artist, and more! Among the nominees were ENHYPEN, Tiara Andini, NiziU, and Iman Troye.

The victory of SB19 was announced a few days later, coinciding with the premiere of their second performance on The First Take. This accomplishment aligns with their mission to share Philippine music on an international stage.

Notably, they are the first and only P-Pop group to receive this award.

Just last year, SB19 faced several challenges with their former management. As a result, they are now self-managed under their own company, 1Z Entertainment. During the launch, the group’s leader and company CEO, Pablo, stated that the company aims to “challenge everything we see in the industry” and to promote “Filipino music, Filipino talent, and the whole Filipino culture.”

Additionally, in their announcement video, the youngest member, Justin, proudly stated, “It’s such an honor to represent the Philippines.”

This year’s Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards also celebrates the 37th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants. Tune in to Nickelodeon on July 20 at 3:00 PM SGT to catch the show!
