TV host and businessman Sam Verzosa auctions ten of his prized luxury cars to help fund the construction of a dialysis center in Sampaloc, Manila.
In the “Driven to Heal” event, he discussed the cars he auctioned to build the donation. One was the Bentley Betayga luxury SUV, his late father’s dream car.
“Yun Bentley pinaka-sentimental car diyan. Inisip ko kung gusto ko e keep or benta kasi wala na father ko. It was one of his dream cars. Yon rinequest niya sakin sana bilhin ko. Pero noong na-order ko na, he passed away before it arrived,” Verzosa shared in an interview.

Sam Verzosa admitted that he struggled to let go of the Betley due to sentimental values. However, he ultimately put the car into auction, believing it’s what his father also wanted.
“Inisip ko kung keep ko for sentimental purposes or ibebenta ko. Pero mas matuwa tatay ko. Siya nagturo sa akin magbigay. Kahit walang-wala kami, last money, tumutulong siya,” he explained.
“Nag-dialysis din siya before he died. So, I think, gusto niyang mapupunta ‘to sa mga dialysis patients. Sa tingin ko, magiging proud siya sa taas. Matutuwa talaga siya.”
The Bentley SUV is valued at over ₱20 million and is one of the ten luxury cars that were displayed during the “Driven to Heal” event.
Other car models displayed in the auction include a Rolls Royce Wraight Coupe, a Lamborghini Aventador, and a Ferrari Spider.

When he was asked further about putting his cars into auction, Sam Verzosa shared that he didn’t have any hesitation.
“Na-enjoy naman natin yun, nagamit natin. But now, in my position, I think mas maraming ‘to, mas maraming makikinabang.
I think it’s time na mapunta na to good use. As I’ve always said, we don’t just do this to help. We do this to inspire others to do the same.”
