Max has officially released the first trailer of the upcoming horror film “Salem’s Lot.”
2024’s “Salem’s Lot” will be written and directed by Gary Dauberman, known for working on another recognizable film, “Annabelle.”
“Salem’s Lot” follows Ben Mears, a successful writer who returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot for his next novel. His return doesn’t go as planned, as the citizens of the town have transformed into nightmares.

Mears and the remaining humans are forced to fight for their lives and find the means to survive the growing outbreak.
Actor Lewis Pullman will play the role of Ben Mears with William Sadler taking the role of Kurt Barlow, an ancient vampire. Some of the other “Salem’s Lot” cast includes Makenzie Leigh, Alfre Woodard, Bill Camp, John Benjamin Hickey, Nicholas Crovetti, and Pilou Asbaek, to name a few.
The film’s plot and elements are based on the 1975 novel “Salem’s Lot,” which is one of the most famous works of horror-genre writer Stephen King. King is widely recognized for his terrifying stories, many adapted into TV series and movies.
Some of King’s other most popular works include Cujo, Pet Sematary, Carrie, and It, all of which garnered their own movie adaptations. Additionally, both Carrie and It have received several film reboots, the latest ones garnering positive reviews.

The 2024 ‘Salem’s Lot’ film is one of the many books fans hope will get the 21st-century movie treatment, but this was not the first adaptation. The 1979 miniseries of Salem’s Lot was also successful and nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards.
After experiencing a series of setbacks and schedule conflicts, ‘Salem’s Lot’ is now on the greenlight and is set to premiere on Max on October 3, 2024. You can check out the full trailer here:
