Ryan Bang and Angelica Panganiban recalled a hilarious travel mishap from their Banana Split days. The story, shared on Ryan’s vlog, highlighted an unintentional but unforgettable blunder that left Angelica shivering in Jeju Island’s winter cold.

Back when Ryan was still new to the show, Angelica had asked him about Jeju Island, a popular Korean tourist destination.

“Bago pa lang ako sa [Banana Split], hindi pa kami masyadong close ni Ate (Angelica),” he narrated, “Tapos sabi ni ate, ‘Ryan, ano yung Jeju Island?’”

Eager to provide a recommendation, he enthusiastically described it as the “Boracay of Korea” for its beaches. Trusting his advice, Angelica packed only summer essentials.

“Nag-impake ako ngayon: two piece, sando—dala pa ako ng mga sunblock yung pang beach kasi Boracay sabi niya eh,” she shared and remarked, “‘Yung katawan ko noon bikini body.”

But the moment she stepped out of the airport, she was met with freezing temperatures and snow.

“Paglabas ko pa lang ng airport, [napakalamig]. At tsaka pinagtitinginan ako ng mga tao lahat sila full on coat, nakabonnet,” she humorously recalled.

She immediately phoned Ryan to confront him.

“Tumawag si ate… ‘Bakit nags-snow, ba’t ang lamig dito?’” Ryan laughed at the memory.

The mishap became an inside joke among their Banana Split colleagues, and Angelica saw the perfect opportunity for payback. When Ryan asked about Baguio City, she gave him a misleading description.

“Sabi niya, ‘Anong dadalhing damit, ano ba yung Baguio?’” she recounted. “Sabi ko, ‘Summer Capital of the Philippines.’”

Then, she playfully remarked, “Napakainit doon, Ryan.”

Ryan, expecting a warm destination, packed light—only to be shocked by Baguio’s chilly climate.

“‘Ba’t ba sobrang lamig? Asan? Asan yung dagat?’” he recalled in disbelief.

The playful exchange is a testament of their fun friendship, built over years of working together.
