OPM rockstar Rico Blanco gives special thanks to ex-girlfriend Maris Racal for her contribution to his new version of “Kisapmata.” Blanco expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in the music and recording process when the video was uploaded.

Despite no longer being in a relationship, their collaboration didn’t seem to hinder the music video’s progress and results. In the official video released on his YouTube channel, the video description states the following: “Special Thanks: Mark Escueta (Guitar Amp), Maris Racal (Telecaster), Marco Bachini (Acoustic Guitar), and Zild (12-string Guitar).”
“Kisapmata” was one of Rico Blanco’s most popular pieces during his time with Rivermaya back in 1996. He has rewritten an updated version of the song and uploaded it on July 27, 2024. The music video illustrates how someone’s emotions can vanish in an instant, despite promises of eternity.
Viewers shared their thoughts about the Easter eggs and hidden messages hinting at Blanco’s past relationship in the video’s comment section.

“Kung susuriin natin maigi, para syang nasa magical enchanted forest. I think that signifies the relationship they had, but he’s stuck down, and now he wears a big bubble jacket kasi she left her there, and it went really cold,” one netizen commented on the video.
“I can feel his sadness in this video,” another user commented. “I think Maris brought a lot of joy into his life because they share the same passion for music. That’s how their love story begins. Like every song, it has a beginning and an ending. Kisapmata says it all. The pain of a broken heart.”
Rico Blanco’s “Kisapmata” is his second release for an upcoming solo album with solo versions of his most popular creations. The musician even described it as his long overdue response to his fans’ long-standing request. As of this article’s writing, the music video has reached YouTube Music’s trending list at the 17th spot.
