Is this Irene’s first solo project?
Although this is Irene’s debut album, this isn’t her first solo project. She has previously worked on a few. In 2016, she made her acting debut with the drama ‘Women at a Game Company.’ She also appeared on ‘Double Patty’ alongside Korean actor Shin Seung-Ho.
In addition, Irene released a few solo songs, such as ‘The Only,’ ‘Feel Pretty,’ and ‘A White Night and I.’ She’s also part of Red Velvet’s sub-unit, Red Velvet – Irene & Seulgi, where the duo released a mini-album, ‘Monster,’ on July 2020.
Is the Red Velvet K-pop group disbanded?
Irene’s solo career doesn’t indicate that Red Velvet has disbanded. Irene is still Red Velvet’s leader. The group recently expanded their albums with their comeback EP, Cosmic, released on June 24, 2024.
Who was the first Red Velvet member to have a solo?
Irene isn’t the first Red Velvet member to go solo. Wendy released her debut EP ‘Like Water’ as a solo artist on April 5, 2021. It’s a five-track album with a duet with her fellow Red Velvet member, Seulgi, titled ‘Best Friend.’ Joy shortly followed in her footsteps and released a mini-album ‘Hello’ on May 31, 2021.
